Mental Health Providers
Your group benefits plan now covers more mental health providers.
You have more options to see different types of mental health professionals to support your well-being.
With a large focus on mental health globally, Canada Life is expanding its list of eligible mental health providers. The new providers are part of Canada Life’s standard mental health coverage.
What’s changing?
Previously, your group plan covered psychologists and social workers. Effective September 1, 2024, psychotherapists and counsellors are also covered; in addition, virtual sessions are included.
This means you can see counsellors, therapists, and other common mental health providers, in addition to psychologists and social workers. Having more options to see different types of mental health professionals is a great way to support well-being.
What’s not changing?
There will be no change to the maximum. You can see the new providers – in addition to or instead of psychologists and social workers – using the same yearly maximum amount.
